# Welcome to the Bundl Blog

Published August 9, 2026 · Alex Chen

Introducing the Bundl.run blog — Homebrew tips, Mac setup guides, and a clearer path to installing the apps you actually use.

Bundl.run started with a simple frustration: setting up a new Mac still means hunting through download pages, clicking through installers, and hoping you remember every app you need. Homebrew already solved the hard part — a single package manager for thousands of Mac apps — but most people still never write a Brewfile.

This blog is where we share the practical side of that work: how we pick apps, how we keep install commands honest, and how you can rebuild a machine without a weekend of click-through installers.

## Why a blog, and why now

The catalog on Bundl is large on purpose. Categories, comparisons, free alternatives, and persona-based collections only help if someone can also learn *how* to use the tooling underneath. Guides already cover the essentials — installing Homebrew, writing a Brewfile, setting up a new Mac — but shorter notes, changelogs, and opinionated picks need a home too.

Expect posts that stay close to the terminal. We will write about:

- Reliable `brew` workflows for casks and formulae
- How we score free alternatives without marketing fluff
- App bundles that survive a factory reset
- Edge cases we hit while generating install scripts

## A card inside MDX

Components from the site design system work inside posts without imports. Here is a callout using the same Card primitive as the rest of Bundl:

      Try it on a clean shell

        Open Terminal, paste a Bundl command, and watch Homebrew install a full
        toolkit in one pass. No DMG scavenger hunt required.

        Open the builder

## One command to start

If you already use Homebrew, the mental model is familiar. Search, install, upgrade, clean up. A minimal cask install looks like this:

```bash
brew install --cask arc
```

Swap `arc` for any cask token on Bundl, or generate a multi-app script from the builder so you never hand-type a long chain of packages again.

## What comes next

We will publish regularly: setup recipes for developers and designers, deep dives on tools we recommend (and ones we do not), and notes on how the Bundl data pipeline stays in sync with Homebrew analytics. If something on the site confuses you — a missing cask, a comparison that feels unfair, a collection that should exist — this is also where we will answer those threads.

Thanks for reading the first post. Select the apps you need, copy the command, and get back to work. If you want a head start, open any collection on Bundl, tweak the list, and export a single install script you can keep in git.
